ITB - Putting Exercise First For 55+ Local Residents This spring!

Today, The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) and Fingal County Council are ensuring that the ladies and gentlemen of the greater Dublin area get fit this spring by inviting them to to participate in a “Stay Strong Strategy” which happens today. Men and women in the Fingal area were given the opportunity to join their local community for an outdoor exercise session in the following parks; Millennium Regional (Blanchardstown); Malahide Castle Regional and The Red Arches (Baldoyle). Aimed towards 55+ year olds, the aerobic and resistance exercise session was for all fitness levels and body types as research has proven that a regular exercise programme provides significant health advantages. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 1.5 billion adults worldwide are overweight with a host of life-destroying ailments including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer which can accompany obesity. Regular exercise and healthy food are the best ammunition in the fight against preventable disease.

The Story Sack Project

Junior and Senior Infant pupils at St. Philips National School, Mountview, Dublin 15 had an imagination overload recently when they welcomed students of ITB’s (Institute of Technology Blanchardstown), Early Childhood Care and Education course to their school where they delivered their Story Sack presentations which had the children’s imaginations running wild and getting excited about reading.
