ITB Bucks National Trend and Increases International Student Numbers for 2013
The Higher Education Authority recently questioned whether Irish third level colleges are doing enough to welcome foreign students as new figures show a fall in numbers coming to study in Ireland.

ITB are delighted to announce that they have agreed a training sponsorship deal with Bohemians FC for the forthcoming Airtricity League season. ITB will provide subsidised training facilities which will include its new FIFA 1 Star All Weather pitch to the Bohemians first team squad for this season.

ITB and PayPal Launch “Are You Pink or Purple - Young Women in Technology” for Third Year
ITB (the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown), are thrilled to be running for the second year their innovative annual project entitled, “Are You Pink or Purple - Young Women in Technology”. A fantastic project for female students in second level schools in Dublin to create awareness about technology. Following on from the great success in 2011 & 2012 there will be 18 lucky female students participating this year, (from Coolmine Community School, Riversdale Community School and St. Dominic’s College, Cabra). The project involves Digital Media & Computing Clinics in ITB and Industry visits to PayPal and eBay. PayPal and eBay have been incredibly supportive in helping ITB with this initiative.. The first clinic took place on 6th March, with a visit to Paypal on 20th March & a third clinic on 17th April.

ITB Welcome Senator David Norris and David Coleman for Humanities Week 2013
ITB are delighted to announce that this year’s annual Humanities Week will take place from Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th March. The festivities will launch with a fantastically colourful and vibrant parade that starts at 10.30 on Tuesday and will make its way throughout the college. With over 80 students from the ECCE and Social and Community Development students and staff from the Humanities Department taking part it promises to be a parade to remember.

ITB - Putting Exercise First For 55+ Local Residents This spring!
Today, The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) and Fingal County Council are ensuring that the ladies and gentlemen of the greater Dublin area get fit this spring by inviting them to to participate in a “Stay Strong Strategy” which happens today. Men and women in the Fingal area were given the opportunity to join their local community for an outdoor exercise session in the following parks; Millennium Regional (Blanchardstown); Malahide Castle Regional and The Red Arches (Baldoyle). Aimed towards 55+ year olds, the aerobic and resistance exercise session was for all fitness levels and body types as research has proven that a regular exercise programme provides significant health advantages. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 1.5 billion adults worldwide are overweight with a host of life-destroying ailments including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer which can accompany obesity. Regular exercise and healthy food are the best ammunition in the fight against preventable disease.

Junior and Senior Infant pupils at St. Philips National School, Mountview, Dublin 15 had an imagination overload recently when they welcomed students of ITB’s (Institute of Technology Blanchardstown), Early Childhood Care and Education course to their school where they delivered their Story Sack presentations which had the children’s imaginations running wild and getting excited about reading.

ITB will welcome over 300 secondary school students from 32 schools from Dublin, Meath and Kildare and Offaly today so they can showcase their impressive scientific discoveries and explorations at SciFest@ITB. Scifest@ITB, is part of a series of one-day science fairs that will take place this year at Institutes of Technology across Ireland. 135 science projects will be displayed at SciFest@ITB with the students delving into a range of investigations - the results of which are bound to raise a few eyebrows.

ITB Hosts Creative Digital Media Student Exhibition
The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) is delighted to be hosting their annual end of year Exhibition in Creative Digital Media on Thursday and Friday 6th – 7th June 2013.
Showcasing the best of creative digital media, the exhibition will feature a range of student’s work across all years of the programme from first to fourth. Visitors to the exhibition can expect to witness a wide range of engaging creative projects including short films, animation, photography, media rich web sites, 3D games, mobile applications, interactive publications and much more creativity and ingenuity.
